An editorial annual report and modular fundraising toolkit designed to communicate national impact, financial transparency, veteran stories, and the ongoing need for service dog support.

project overview

Rescue 22 Foundation provides highly trained service dogs to veterans with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, mobility impairments, and complex medical needs.

For its 2025 year-end communications, the organization needed more than a traditional annual recap. The report had to acknowledge a significant funding challenge while demonstrating that service dog placements, veteran support, trainer development, and nationwide outreach continued throughout the year. The final system paired an editorial annual report with focused one-page materials that could support donor, sponsor, foundation, and community conversations.

Selected Spreads

Working within Rescue 22 Foundation’s existing visual identity, I developed an elevated editorial direction for the annual report and supporting donor materials. Large serif headlines create an emotional, story-driven tone, while condensed labels, structured grids, restrained color accents, and modular information blocks make detailed content easier to navigate. Red is used selectively to signal urgency and highlight key figures, while navy anchors the materials in the established Rescue 22 brand.

A clear, human-centered editorial approach brings the mission to life through veteran stories, documentary photography, impact statistics, maps, and financial information. Each spread was structured to balance emotional storytelling with concise, scannable content, helping readers understand both the organization’s impact and the urgency of the need.

Donor Communications Toolkit

A modular collection of one-page materials designed to support different donor and partner conversations.

Each piece focuses on a specific area of the mission, including organizational impact, veteran stories, financial transparency, national reach, research-backed outcomes, and partnership opportunities.

Because the materials share a consistent editorial approach, they can be used individually or combined into a broader donor packet.

Outcome and Application

The completed suite gave Rescue 22 a flexible set of materials for year-end reporting, donor stewardship, sponsor outreach, grant conversations, events, and community education.

Rather than relying on one long-form report for every audience, the organization could use individual one-pagers for focused conversations or combine them into a more comprehensive donor packet.
